If you’ve been around Cuppa Daisies for a while, you’ll know that it isn’t really just one thing.
There are the Pre-Loved Sales, the Content + Communication work, the Safety Key Chains and, of course, the Morningstar Car Boot Sale.
They might look like quite a collection of things, but they all fit quite comfortably under the Cuppa Daisies umbrella.
Actually, the name itself probably explains more about the business than you might think.
Cuppa is easy.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love my coffee. A good cuppa is one of my favourite things, and meeting people over coffee is even better.
A good friend once said to me, “Interesting things happen over a cup of coffee.”
And I think she was onto something.
Some of my favourite conversations, ideas, collaborations and friendships have started over a cup of coffee. A coffee is rarely just a coffee. There’s usually a conversation, an idea, a connection or a story that comes along with it.
And then there’s Daisies.
Daisies are my favourite flower. I love that they come in all sorts of colours and varieties, that they’re pretty without being precious, and that they’re actually rather hardy little things.
Which, if I’m honest, is probably why they appealed to me in the first place.
And yes, I did consider some alternatives.
I love wine too, but WineGlass of Daisies didn’t really have the same ring to it.
And frangipani is another favourite flower of mine, but Cuppa Frangipani just wasn’t quite working either.
So Cuppa Daisies it was.
And somehow, over the years, the name has become a rather good description of what the business is.
It’s a little bit eclectic. It’s practical. It’s colourful. It’s about people. It’s about finding new possibilities for things. And it’s about not being afraid to try something a little different.
Which brings me to something new I’m doing at the Morningstar Car Boot Sale.
The Pre-Loved Sales and the Boot Sale have always been a very natural fit. That’s where the selling side of Cuppa Daisies comes alive.
The Content + Communication side is there too, because there’s a fair amount of writing, planning, posting, chatting and generally telling people what’s happening behind the scenes.
And now I’m bringing the Safety Key Chains into the mix.
From the September Morningstar Car Boot Sale, I’ll be selling Safety Key Chains from my stall.
I’ve been selling these for a while now, but until recently they have lived slightly outside the Boot Sale side of things. It suddenly occurred to me that there was no reason for that.
They’re useful little products. They’re affordable. They’re something people can actually pick up, look at, ask questions about and take home with them.
And that’s exactly what a car boot sale is good at.
So when you come along to the September Boot Sale, you’ll find a little more Cuppa Daisies on my table than before – pre-loved items looking for a new home and the safety key chains and I’ll be the vendor with a cuppa coffee in my hand!
