The Morningstar Car Boot Sale started with very humble beginnings for us.
We wanted to raise funds for our Christmas 2025 celebrations, and made a simple decision: start where we are and do it with purpose.
On what felt like the windiest day in December, around 10 brave vendors set up alongside us. Gazebos were tested, tables were weighed down, and everyone adjusted to whatever the day brought. Several other markets in Cape Town actually cancelled that day, due to the weather, but we stayed with our decision because we had set an intention and chose to follow through.
Although only a small number of shoppers arrived that day, those who did brought exactly what mattered most: presence, support, and genuine engagement. And some of those shoppers have come to every single event since then! Thank you.
From that first market, things began to take shape and gradually grow in a way we didn’t fully anticipate at the time.
Those 10 vendors have now grown to more than 20 vendors per event, with shoppers travelling from all over the Cape Town area. While growth is exciting, we continue to approach this journey with intention, not urgency.
We are focused on building something sustainable, grounded, and meaningful, something that supports both vendors and community in a real way.
At its core, the Morningstar Car Boot Sale is becoming something bigger than just another event. It is a space where people, stories, and purpose come together in one shared environment, each bringing their own part to the experience.
To everyone who has supported us so far, thank you. Your presence, encouragement, and consistency mean more than you may realise. And as we continue through 2026, we’re holding onto the same mindset that started it all: stay intentional, stay grounded, and keep building step by step.
We are taking a short break now, for the winter months, but watch this space as we prepare to release our Spring, Summer, and Christmas event dates soon!
