Having a Positive Mindset

Having a positive mindset is a choice; it’s about choosing to see the glass as half full and not half empty.  The last 50 years has seen some really incredible discoveries in science which has helped scientists understand how the mind creates its own reality.  Our thoughts are energies just as there are energies that hold matter together (e.g. changing water to steam).  A fantastic resource to read more about this is John Kehoe’s Mind Power into the 21st Century and Robin Banks runs amazing courses on this work. 

What does this mean for us?  Using the work CUPPA as the basis of a “crib sheet”, here are some ways to help cultivate a positive mindset

Confident:

Be confident in your positive behaviours and have a can-do attitude.  Believe in yourself, and the energies around you.  

Understanding:

Understand that not everything is easy, but aim to find the positive in even the most difficult of situations.

Positive:

Look for solutions and not problems; there is good in almost every situation.

Persistence:

Keep at it!  It can take anywhere from 18 to 254 days to form a habit; so it’s important to be persistent.  Use the experiences and the journey to positivity as learning opportunities.

Appreciate:

Acknowledge and appreciate every win; especially the small ones.  The small wins are just as valuable as the big ones!  Small victories build confidence!

It’s a SKILL that you can add to your arsenal of skills. 

But first what it is NOT:

  • Spamming social media platforms with adverts – that’s MARKETING.
  • Aggressive product pitching and convincing people to buy your product – that’s SALES.

  • Actively Listening
  • Investment in your future

If you are here to offer support to a group of fine women and learn about others, you are in the right place.

Deliver a great elevator pitch:

  • Introduce your name and business clearly.
  • Be concise about what you do.
  • Stick to the time given; your passion will shine through regardless of the time you have.
  • Wrap up by repeating your name and business clearly again.

  • Add samples, products, discount vouchers, etc., in the goody bags and be sure to mention them in your elevator pitch.
